Our Organization

The Rotary Club of Tulsa (RCT), established in 1915, is one of the largest Rotary organizations in the world.  RCT has a long history of significant service, from local projects in the Tulsa area to international projects.   Our motto, adopted from Rotary International, is “Service Above Self”.  This level of service, combined with RCT’s Foundation and diverse membership, will allow us to remain an effective agent of change and service into the next century.


Executive Director of the Rotary Club of Tulsa

Position Summary

The executive director, in conjunction with the currently serving president, is responsible for the overall daily management and operations of the Rotary Club of Tulsa and the Club Foundation.  The executive director is a full-time exempt employee of RCT.

The executive director reports directly to the president and the chairperson of the Long Range Planning Committee.  The executive director will also work closely with the board of directors, the president-elect, the foundation trustees, and committee chairpersons.  Occasional travel may be required.

The executive director will develop and maintain a community presence (external to RCT membership) for the purposes of donor stewardship and representing the mission, values, and goals of the Rotary Club of Tulsa.


Member Engagement: Facilitates the delivery of a variety of programs, activities, and meetings that meet the expectations and needs of RCT’s diverse membership, while reflecting our core values and purposes.

Membership Attraction: Encourages recognition of the Rotary Club of Tulsa as Tulsa’s premier organization of business, professional, educational, nonprofit, and civic leaders who represent the economic and demographic diversity of our community.

Funds Development: Works closely with the RCT’s Club Foundation chairperson to identify new funding sources, develop applicable collateral, and participate in joint meetings with potential or exiting donors and benefactors.

Community Presentations: Develops resources for presentations of RCT’s mission, values, and projects to a general audience or other organizations in the Tulsa area.

Communications: Oversees all TRC communications in concert with the Communications Committee to effectively convey the impact of TRC’s work to its members and to the community.

Administrative: Supports the president and the board in implementing RCT’s long-range plan, which includes RCT’s annual operating plan, strategic plan, and board resolutions.  The executive director will also supervise office personnel to include staff selection, oversight, and reviews.

Financial: Oversees fiscal operations to include developing, implementing, and monitoring the organization’s annual budget, working closely with RCT’s treasurer, Finance Committee, and the Club Foundation Committee.


Required education and experience:

  • applicable college curriculum / degree from an accredited college or university
  • over three years of relevant work experience with membership-based or member-oriented organizations
  • management experience with at least two direct-report employees
  • proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite
  • proficient in the use of social media
  • skilled in social engagements and community presentations
  • demonstrated ability in fund development and grant application and management processes
